Gotta give it up to Dos Equis (yes, the beverage brand) for sponsoring an awesome 3D street painting tour this past summer in the USA!
Team 3D hit the pavement in 3 fantastic locations: CocoWalk in Miami Beach; downtown Austin, Texas; and always entertaining Venice Beach, California. Inspired by their ‘Take The More Interesting Route’ tag line, my team and I threw down some really fun images for the public to interact with.
Check out our ‘Gator Pit’ in Florida; the ‘Jungle Cliff’ in Texas; and the “Lava Pit’ in California. We had a blast making these paintings and the public went nuts in each location with photos, which were tagged to Dos XX Facebook, Twitter and Instagram feeds. Social Media always works well on these campaigns and our amazing production team knocked it out of the park on this one!
And just to make the route even that more ‘interesting’, my team and I created a mammoth ‘adventure’ chalk mural for the same campaign which was showcased at the Dallas / Fort Worth International Airport – American Airlines terminal in July & August. If you happened to see it give us a shout out. We’d love to know what you thought!
Here’s a clip from the CocoWalk event. Special thank you to Carlos Meneses and CocoWalk for producing this video from the event.
You mention that you use pastels, but the guys are using a liquid. Is it a paint that’s being used for the street painting?
Hi Rick,
We use both paint and chalk on our works. Paint is usually reserved for rainy weather conditions or for pieces that require a lot of foot traffic that chalk can’t withstand. We really prefer using chalk though.
