To make a splash in New York during Fashion Week takes some thought and creativity, so Chrysler decided that 3D street painting was the way to go when announcing the launch of their new John Varvatos designed edition of the 300C. John Varvatos is the king of rock fashion, with a signature store located on the site of the defunkt iconic New York underground music venue, CBGB & OMFUG. I had frequented CBGB back in my youth, so it was a bit ironic that I’d be drawing on that sidewalk in 2012. The cool part of the location was seeing the old club walls, preserved by Varvatos as homage to the venue, with some original murals still visible on the untouched walls.
Outside we were going to bring the pavement to life and create a little bit of magic by showcasing the Chrysler on a city ‘catwalk’ as a 3D street painting – with a nod to Varvatos’s love for guitars, LP’s and music memorabilia. Completed in 2 days, we rocked the pavement with 3D chalk art and the locals loved it. I love New York (as a one time resident) so it was really great to be back!
WOW! What incredible work. Just amazing. I have not gotten to see any 3D street art in person, but the pictures are almost take my breath away.
I admire and respect your imagination and creativity.
Very Well Done!
Thank you for the kind words of support Joe!
