3D Gator Strikes at Student Street Painting Workshop

Many of you may know that I am a real advocate for eduction, especially when it comes to my art form – 3d street painting. I’ve created a free ‘How To’ video – for those interested in learning the basics of 3d work which can be easily accessed on the home page of my website – as well as an easy to use e-book on the topic. These are great tools for anyone hoping to get started in the world of 3d street painting.
But my real love lies in direct appearance workshops, where I can freely interact with

3D Chalk Art Debuts at Colors of St. Petersburg, Russia

I had the wonderful pleasure to participate as an invited artist at the 1st Annual ‘Colors of St. Petersburg’ Street Painting Festival this summer. I had traveled to St. Petersburg in 2010 and was excited about returning to draw with the national artists. I used this opportunity to present my work via a 3D street painting master class for participants, and a hands on workshop painting with a crew of local artists who proved to be not only talented, but great fun to

Incredible 3D Street Art India

3D Street Art Makes a Heartfelt Mark on India

3D street art in Kolkata, India with Tracy Lee Stum

Incredible! Truly the perfect adjective that springs to mind when summing up the latest art adventure I’ve recently had the good fortune to experience. From across oceans, deserts and mountains, and into the kaleidoscopic sanctum of my mind / heart – India and its people do not disappoint.

Invited back by the US Consulate of India to appear on a second edition of my 2009 3D Street Painting Tour, I was honored to conduct workshops and create exhibition pieces at amazing venues around the country: the renowned Jaipur Literary Festival (where I missed Oprah by days!); the renowned Kolkata Book Fair & Nandan Arts Center, Kolkata; Vellore Institute of Technology’s Riviera

3D Street Painting – Colors of Willemstad, Curacao

The Colo3D Street Painting Curacao - Tracy Lee Stumrs of Willemstad is a relatively new event, celebrating it’s 2nd anniversary in 2011. We enjoyed a great day at the beach on Tuesday, soaking up some of the wonderful Caribbean sun and enjoying the warm tropical waters. A great way to get into street painting mode!

3D Street Painting Meets F1 at Singapore Grand Prix

Cars, racing, art, Tracy – word play synonymous with 3D street painting at the premier event of the F1 2010 racing circuit – the Singapore Grand Prix! What an amazing experience for me personally as this was my very first F1 race event and boy, did it ever live up to expectations!

3D Street Painting- F1 Grand Prix - Tracy Lee Stum

Let’s talk about this sport culture for just a moment. F1 attracts the brightest and best in racing, with a worldwide audience of just about 600 million fans. That number indicates there’s got to be something to this sport & I know what it is: the cars. These cars are sexy. Period. Louder than a screaming 747, faster than a speeding bullet and hotter than Angelina Jolie on her best day!

3D Street Painting in Japan – The Next Generation

toba japan workshop 2

After my visit to Hong Kong, I decided to make a trip over to beautiful Japan to check out Kyoto and visit some good friends down in Toba, where I had done some 3d street painting back in 2004 as part of a Santa Barbara Sister City project. My dear friend Mitsuko Yamamoto had extended an invitation to visit with her family along with providing a 3D workshop for the students enrolled in the Kokusai Kids Club in Toba.

I was thrilled to teach while there so we agreed to a 3 hour session, with approximately 30 students enrolled. Since our age gr0ups were younger than my usual classes (kids participating were aged 7 – 10 years), I decided to simplify the curriculum and present some very basic images for them to draw with chalk pastels on paper (as it was 40

3D Chalk Art in Hong Kong at Student Workshop

While in Hong Kong for the Home Square 3D Illusion House Project, I had the pleasure of conducting a fun & informative 3 hour 3d chalk art workshop for select high school art students from the Hong Kong area. I get inquiries from people all around the globe on how to draw in 3D. Kids, especially, want to know how to draw in 3D, so it’s been very rewarding for me to add an educational component, via the workshop, to many of the contracted projects I engage in around the world. Last year’s workshops in India proved so productive for everyone involved that I
