Randolph School – Huntsville, Alabama
What an honor to be selected as this years Artist in Residence through the Randolph School Center for Visual and Performing Arts, in beautiful Huntsville, Alabama! Invited to present my work and life as a street painter, I presented two unique 3d street painting murals on site at both the Shields-Jones Athletic Center and at the Randolph Middle School campus. The residency capped off with an evening lecture, auction of an original painting completed live on stage and jazz concert with the Marcus Pope & Friends Jazz Ensemble at the Thurber Arts Center to support the Visual Arts programs at Randolph. Recognized as one of Alabama’s premier private schools, Randolph offers extraordinary curriculum in academics, arts, and athletics for students. My program consisted of working with middle school students in a hands on street painting mural ‘workshop’ to provide instruction in practical applications for public art. Additional presenters included Frank D’Ambrosio from ‘Phantom of the Opera’ fame and the legendary Nelson Riddle Orchestra. Special thanks to Sue Samuels, Director of Visual and Performing Arts, for hosting me!
